Leipzig, Germany, May 17th 2023 – SCHENKER's premium ultrabook series VISION upgrades to Intel's Core i7-13700H and also receives a graphics card update. Aside from the VISION 16 Pro with a GeForce RTX 4070 or 4060, the VISION 16 is only available with an Intel Iris Xe GPU. On the other hand, the VISION 14 with a 99 Wh battery and 3K display offers a choice between a model with Iris Xe and GeForce RTX 3050 Refresh. Thus, the slim laptops are among the lightest and thinnest ultrabooks in their respective performance or equipment classes. Nevertheless, the model series is defined by good connectivity as well as plugged-in RAM and SSDs. All laptops are available in black or silver.
Schenker Technologies updates the 16-inch premium ultrabook SCHENKER VISION 16 Pro in the model version M23 (Mid 2023) to the latest level of technology - with a fast Intel Core i7-13700H featuring 6 performance and 8 efficiency cores as well as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or 4060 as freely configurable options, each with a GPU performance of up to 95 watts (70 watts plus 25 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0).
What makes the VISION 16 Pro exceptional in view of this hardware combination is the 354 x 245 x 17.1 mm thin AZ91D magnesium case with a weight of merely 1.6 kg: There is currently no lighter 16-inch ultrabook with a comparable combination of processor and graphics card, and it is also one of the thinnest contenders in its performance class. The cooling system has undergone a significant upgrade. This includes newly developed, larger and quieter fans, an additional heat pipe on the VRAM and MOSFETs of the graphics card, and liquid metal (Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut) for cooling not only the CPU but also the GPU.
The complementary features make the ultrabook ideal both as a highly portable gaming laptop and as a high-performance content creation workstation. Up to 64 GB DDR5 RAM and two M.2 SSDs with fast PCIe 4.0 connection are configurable, and thermal pads for both drives are already pre-installed. Schenker Technologies also overcomes one of the biggest ultrabook drawbacks: All memory components are plugged in despite the slim format and can therefore be upgraded and replaced instead of being soldered. The 16.0-inch IPS display in 16:10 format has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, covers 95 per cent of the sRGB colour space, is 350 nits bright and 240 Hz fast - with optional 60 Hz power-saving mode. The internally screwed and thus replaceable battery is generously sized at 80 Wh.
In terms of connectivity, the laptop features Thunderbolt 4 as well as USB-C (3.2 Gen2x1), each with an integrated DisplayPort stream. The Thunderbolt 4 port supports PowerDelivery for the use of a USB-C travel power supply; by default, the laptop is charged via a conventional 180 watt power supply with a barrel plug. The dimensions and weight of the new model are significantly reduced to 113.5 x 64.5 x 23 mm and just under 500 g. In combination with the HDMI 2.0 port with connection to the efficient iGPU, up to three additional monitors can be connected natively. Two USB-A ports (3.2 Gen1), a 2-in-1 audio port and a card reader for full-size SD cards complete the connectivity options.
Like its predecessor, the M23 model generation also offers a full-size keyboard with dedicated numeric keypad, large arrow keys, Fn-lock function for permanently switching the F-keys to secondary assignment and two-level adjustable white backlighting. The centrally positioned, Microsoft Precision compliant glass touchpad measures an impressive 154 x 100 mm and offers smart additional features: a double-tap function to deactivate the entire touchpad or the right half, as well as automatic hand wrist recognition to prevent accidental input errors.
As a lower equipment variant, the SCHENKER VISION 16 (M23) is available exclusively with Intel's Core i7-13700H and the integrated Iris Xe graphics unit. This reduces the total weight of the light and slim laptop to 1.5 kg. The chassis dimensions and material, memory and connectivity as well as the input devices and the display are almost identical to the Pro variant. The standard power supply provides 120 watts. During local video playback, the efficient hardware in combination with the 80 Wh battery provides almost 11 hours of runtime at a stretch (150 nits, energy-saving profile).
In the 2023 model version, the SCHENKER VISION 14 also receives an update to Intel's Core i7-13700H. It has a lightweight AZ91D magnesium chassis, which it shares with the larger VISION 16. Outfitted with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Refresh with 6 GB GDDR6 VRAM, which provides GPU performance of up to 50 watts (45 watts plus 5 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0), the 308.8 x 215 x 16.6 mm slim 14 inch ultrabook weighs a mere 1.33 kg. Meanwhile, the laptop weighs only 1.28 kg in the version that exclusively features Intel's efficient Iris Xe graphics unit. The dual-fan cooling system remains the same, and liquid metal is used as a thermal compound on the CPU.
The VISION 14 stands out with its internally screwed 99 Wh battery: no other 14-inch ultrabook with comparable dimensions and similarly low weight offers a comparable capacity. In local video playback (150 nits, energy-saving profile), 12:30 hours of runtime are thus possible for both the model with RTX 3050 Refresh and the model with Iris Xe graphics unit.
The highlights of the compact ultrabook include a high-resolution non-glare 16:10 IPS display with 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, a brightness of 380 nits, 99 percent sRGB colour space coverage and 90 Hz technology. The VISION 14 also offers the option of swapping or upgrading memory and SSD, has an M.2 slot connected via PCIe 4.0 and equipped with a thermal pad as well as two SO-DIMM slots for a maximum of 64 GB DDR5 RAM.
Considering that it is a compact 14-inch ultrabook, the connectivity is generous and includes a DisplayPort and Power Delivery capable Thunderbolt 4 port, USB-C port (3.2 Gen2x1, DisplayPort function is only available in the RTX 3050 configuration), two USB-A (3.1 Gen1) ports, HDMI 2.0, a card reader for full-sized SD cards and a 2-in-1 audio port. The laptop is charged via a 150 (RTX 3050) or 120 watt power supply unit (Iris Xe); alternatively, it can also be charged via PowerDelivery using a travel power supply unit at the Thunderbolt 4 port. The 130 x 80 mm glass touchpad meets Microsoft Precision standards and the white backlit keyboard has a Fn-Lock function for permanently switching the F-key assignment to the secondary function.
