Despite its focus on a slim design, the SCHENKER KEY 17 convinces with a high degree of computing power. This is ensured by the integration of the latest high-performance components and technologies. Thanks to the use of a thin bezel display and an elegant metal housing, the compact model scores with an excellent combination of good mobility characteristics, high stability and long-term durability.
The SCHENKER KEY 17 pairs a high-performance six-core mobile processor from Intel with the latest and fastest RTX graphics chips from NVIDIA. A cooling system that has been optimized in several areas contributes to the fact that the slim laptop has the heat development of the high-performance components under control and scores with surprisingly low temperature values both inside and outside. Improvements include a highly effective heatpipe design and a fan upgrade that allows a higher number of thinner rotor blades for a significantly increased air flow at lower speed and volume development.
With mounting options for up to two M.2 SSDs, a 2.5-inch drive and up to 64 GB RAM, the laptop is future-proof in any case. In addition, the SCHENKER KEY 17 leaves plenty of room for connecting external peripherals. The versatile laptop not only integrates four USB ports, including two in Type C format, but is also capable of supplying up to three additional playback devices such as monitors or beamers.
An excellent keyboard with adjustable LED backlighting and a glass touchpad with integrated fingerprint reader allow precise input, while a high-quality Full HD display with IPS panel rounds off the list of features: The use of a bright, 144 Hz fast IPS panel lays the foundation for colour-intensive, high-contrast image reproduction and a particularly smooth display of moving content.
Intel’s 9th generation mobile Core CPUs combine high desktop-level performance with the typical energy efficiency advantage of a mobile CPU. The Core i7-9750H’s six cores (including hyperthreading) significantly speed up the processing of complex workloads. Compared to the previous generation, the new model gains a considerable performance advantage from its increased base and turbo boost clock speed of 2.6 GHz and up to 4.5 GHz respectively. Nevertheless, the TDP specification with 45 W remains at the same low level as before and paves the way for a cool and quiet operation.
With the RTX 2080 and RTX 2070, the highest expansion levels of the SCHENKER KEY 17 use the top models from NVIDIA's current graphics card generation in the particularly efficient Max-Q design. The Max-P version of the RTX 2060 is also available as an entry-level model. The performance of the graphics chips is effortlessly sufficient for the calculation of sophisticated 3D content in the highest resolution levels, for the playback of augmented and virtual reality content as well as for the fast GPU-accelerated processing of multimedia data. The RTX series includes real-time ray tracing, NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) and special tensor cores for AI calculations.
Up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM allow a fast provision from the main memory even when processing very large data sets. In addition, the laptop holds up to two fast M.2 SSDs as well as an additional 2.5-inch drive. Thanks to a PCI Express 3.0 connection via four lanes, the fastest SSDs achieve impressive throughput rates of up to 3500 MB/s with minimal access times. The two M.2 slots additionally allow the setup of a RAID 1 or RAID 0 system.
The best possible input comfort is provided by a full-format keyboard, which not only has a numeric keypad and arrow keys in standard size, but also an RGB backlight that can be separately adjusted in three zones. An attractive glass touchpad with integrated fingerprint reader ensures precise control. The sensor is located at an invisible position below the touchpad and only lights up as soon as a program expects a corresponding input.
The height of the SCHENKER KEY 17 is less than 20 mm. Despite its 17.3-inch form factor, the device, which weighs only 2.5 kg, is thus one of the slimmest in its performance class and guarantees optimum portability, especially for frequent, mobile use. At the same time, it uses an attractive metal housing. Despite its slim dimensions, this not only contributes to a particularly robust and torsion-resistant design, but also offers thermal advantages with regard to the high-performance components used.
