XMG CORE 16 VE: Affordable Value Edition with Ryzen 7 H 255 and RTX 5060

The XMG CORE 16 VE complements the regular CORE 16 with a €200 cheaper entry-level version in the same aluminum chassis, but with more affordable components. The Value Edition uses an AMD Ryzen 7 H255 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, and an 80 Wh battery. While the 16-inch IPS display still has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and a brightness of 500 nits, the refresh rate is 180 Hz. However, up to 128 GB of RAM and 16 TB of SSD storage are still available in the Value Edition, and the connectivity options remain comprehensive.
XMG CORE 16 VE (M25) with aluminum housing and 1600p display from 1,399 euros
The XMG CORE 16 Value Edition is based on the same components as the regular model, which has been available since mid-August. This price-performance-focused version also features a 357 x 254 x 23 mm aluminum chassis weighing 2.1 kg. Inside, it's powered by AMD's Ryzen 7 H255 with 8 cores and 16 threads, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with a maximum graphics power of 115 watts including Dynamic Boost. The battery capacity, at 80 Wh instead of 99.8 Wh, is still generous.
Since the cooling system of the Value Edition is unchanged compared to the regular CORE 16, the installed components can operate at full capacity even under sustained full load. This is ensured by two fans with diameters of 84 and 70 mm, two rear air outlets with copper heat sinks and a total of 144 cooling fins, dual fresh air intake via the bottom and the keyboard area on the top, and Honeywell PTM7958 thermal pads on the CPU and GPU.

Power Limits: XMG CORE 16 VE (M25)
Even with the currently cheapest XMG laptop with a dedicated NVIDIA graphics card, the performance parameters of the processor and graphics card, as well as the fan curves, can be adjusted beyond the predefined performance profiles: between 50 and 100 watts plus 15 watts Dynamic Boost for the RTX 5060 and between 10 and 100 watts (PL1) for the Ryzen 7 H 255.
500-nit display with 100 percent sRGB, up to 128 GB RAM and 16 TB SSD storage
The XMG CORE 16 VE's IPS panel can be opened up to 180 degrees with one hand, has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, and a brightness of 500 nits. Unlike the regular CORE 16, it only covers 100 percent of the sRGB color space and has a refresh rate of 180 Hz instead of 300 Hz.
The extensive configuration options remain unchanged, offering up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and 16 TB of SSD storage. XMG distributes this storage across two SO-DIMM sockets and two M.2 slots with PCI Express 4.0 connectivity, which are equipped with additional thermal pads to improve temperatures.
Numerous external ports for up to four monitors
The Value Edition doesn't skimp on connectivity, offering exactly what already distinguishes the regular XMG CORE 16. HDMI 2.1 with 48 Gbit/s and a DP40-capable Mini DisplayPort 2.1, a Thunderbolt-enabled USB4 port with 140 watts Power Delivery (20 V, 7 A) and integrated DisplayPort 2.1 with DP40, as well as the connector for the 240-watt laptop power supply, are located on the back.
The XMG CORE 16 VE features a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port with DisplayPort 1.4a and 100W Power Delivery, three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, Gigabit LAN, a 2-in-1 headphone/microphone jack, and a fast, full-size SD Express compatible card reader on the side. Depending on the selected Wi-Fi module, the laptop connects to wireless networks via Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 6.
This allows for the native connection of up to four additional external monitors to the XMG CORE 16 VE. Both the Mini DisplayPort and the HDMI port are connected to NVIDIA's powerful dGPU, while both DisplayPort-enabled USB-C ports utilize the power-saving iGPU of the AMD CPU. NVIDIA Optimus automatically switches between the iGPU and dGPU for these two ports, depending on performance requirements.
RGB keyboard with N-key rollover and glass-like Mylar touchpad
The keyboard is identical to that of the regular CORE 16. A full numeric keypad and separate, full-size arrow keys ensure comfortable operation. Anti-ghosting, N-key rollover, and individually customizable per-key RGB backlighting are also included.
The precise touchpad with a glass-like surface measures 123 x 77.5 mm. A full HD webcam with Windows Hello support and a mechanical privacy shutter above the display is also available for video calls.
