The XMG CORE 16 opens a new chapter in Undercover Gaming with high-end features, premium build quality, a stylish-elegant design, and the very top of midrange performance in a smart 16-inch form factor. Designed on the basis of the XMG NEO 16, this gaming laptop takes many features of the top model and bundles them into an outstanding complete package, including the optional mechanical keyboard with CHERRY MX Ultra Low Profile switches. A highly efficient, high-performance eight-core processor from the AMD Phoenix series, graphics cards up to the DLSS3-capable NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, a maximum of 96 GB RAM, a huge battery and a superior cooling system including liquid metal give the CORE 16 the finishing touch.

Compared to the Zen 3-based predecessor generation, this CPU offers a significant increase in both single- and multi-core performance.

In the XMG CORE 16, highly efficient laptop components meet a generous cooling system that ensures excellent temperatures in every situation. Four heat pipes, separate heat sinks on all four air outlets and large fans with a low-frequency acoustic characteristic offer more than enough reserves to get the maximum performance out of the processor and graphics card. The additional use of liquid metal completes the high-performance cooling.

With its optional high-end keyboard based on CHERRY's groundbreaking Ultra Low Profile Tactile switches, the XMG CORE 16 picks up on one of the key features of the XMG NEO series. The flattest, fully mechanical switches for laptops impress with a uniquely precise feedback, proven CHERRY durability and freely programmable RGB per-key backlight - N-key rollover, anti-ghosting and features such as a dedicated numeric keypad and large arrow keys included. For those who prefer particularly quiet typing, the CORE 16 is also available with a keyboard with silent membrane switches.

The 16-inch non-glare display offers an enhanced WQXGA resolution (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) for a razor-sharp image reproduction. Thanks to a brightness of 350 nits, everything can be seen perfectly even in bright environments. With the IPS technology used, you can expect not only vibrant colours, a high contrast and excellent black levels, but also a wide viewing angle stability.

But it's not just the configuration options for the memory that leave you all options open: Two M.2 slots outfitted with thermal pads for fast SSDs connected via PCI Express 4.0 provide more than enough storage space if needed.

99 Wh for long runtimes

A battery capacity of 99 Wh is the absolute maximum allowed for unrestricted mobile use of your laptop. Combined with the efficient high-performance components, the XMG CORE 16 offers impressive runtimes on the go. When taking advantage of the clever 60 Hz feature, over 8 hours are possible during light workloads such as streaming videos. In addition, three selectable profiles allow you to adjust the maximum capacity and charging speed of the battery to optimise longevity according to your individual use of the laptop.

All the connectivity you need

The versatile XMG CORE 16 comes with all the ports you need for your gaming setup or daily workflow. These include three USB-A and one USB-C port as well as a card reader for full-size SD cards and separate audio jacks for headphones (compatible with combo plug headsets) and a microphone. Additional display devices such as external G-SYNC monitors or smart TVs for convenient couch gaming can be operated via a Mini DisplayPort or HDMI output. Network connection is via fast Wi-Fi 6 or wired Gigabit Ethernet.

Even the chassis of the XMG CORE 16 is in keeping with the concept of bringing high-end features to the upper mid-range: The excellently crafted chassis is based on a sturdy base unit and a display lid made of high-quality aluminium, while the area below the keyboard offers you a non-slip grip thanks to a special, non-slip polymer. A Microsoft Precision Touchpad made of glass accurately handles all inputs and helps to prevent unintentional input errors thanks to automatic recognition of the palm of the hand.

The XMG Control Center is a powerful tool that gives you complete control over your laptop’s performance settings. Not only will you find customised, predefined performance profiles, but you can also create your own profiles with the optimal balance of performance, noise and temperatures – and then conveniently call them up via the mode switch button above the keyboard. Experts can also access many additional tuning options to get the most out of their setup.
