SCHENKER VISION 15: Thin and light Tiger Lake reference laptop with touch display

Leipzig, Germany, 19th November 2020 – The SCHENKER VISION 15 is about to set new standards in the premium laptop segment. Featuring the recently introduced Core i7-1165G7 processor, the 15.6-inch laptop offers top-notch specifications and the highest quality workmanship, as its 15 mm slim unibody aluminium chassis is bursting with modern technology. This includes a touch display with maximum brightness of 450 nits, Thunderbolt 4, an M.2 SSD connected via PCI Express 4.0, charging options on both sides via USB-C and many additional, smart features. The reference character of this laptop does not come by chance: The development is based on a cooperation with Intel, which is responsible for the design of an optimal motherboard layout and cooling system. For this reason, the laptop also meets all standards of the Intel Evo platform.

Cooperation with Intel guarantees highest quality standards

Intel's latest 11th Generation Core processors (Tiger Lake) recently attracted a lot of attention in the press. Thanks to their high IPC performance, they feature an outstanding everyday and office performance. The integrated Xe graphics unit provides a significant performance leap when compared to the previous UHD GPU, making these processors powerful multimedia all-rounders for Ultrabooks. The SCHENKER VISION 15 is equipped with the Core i7-1165G7, one of the top models from the new CPU range, featuring four cores and eight threads. And who better than Intel itself to design the best possible platform for the brand new processor? The motherboard was designed by the Intel SPG Group, also known as the engineering driving force behind the industry-leading Intel NUC mini PCs, which are renowned for their durability and reliability. With the SCHENKER VISION 15, Schenker Technologies is continuing a successful cooperation with Intel, which started in 2019 and led to the XMG FUSION 15 - a powerful gaming laptop that has set new standards to this day and has accordingly received numerous awards from the international press.

Maximum efficiency for outstanding battery life

The considerable experience of Intel's development department has produced a tailor-made BIOS and a highly optimized motherboard; combining a compact layout with impressive efficiency, resulting in an idle system power consumption of only as low as just 3 watts. Despite the slim laptop dimensions, the ultra-compact mainboard design leaves ample space in the interior of the chassis to integrate a 73 Wh battery with quick-charging function. This specific combination provides an impressive battery life: when surfing via WiFi, the battery lasts for over 14 hours, when playing H.264 videos locally, for over 10 hours - each scenario measured with a screen brightness of 150 nits. Charging is provided via a 65 watt compact power supply (6.6 x 6.6 x 2.8 cm) with USB-C plug, which is also suitable for charging current smartphones. Conveniently, the laptop itself features USB-C ports with power delivery on both sides, so the external power supply can be connected on the right or left.

Unibody aluminium chassis and bright IPS touch display

The excellent build quality of the 35.5 x 23 x 1.5 cm slim, silver anodized all aluminium chassis of the SCHENKER VISION 15, leaves nothing to be desired - as evidenced by the seamless transitions between the chassis elements and the precisely even gap dimensions. The lightweight material offers the best possible thermal conductivity characteristics and significantly helps to reduce the total weight of the laptop, including the touch display in a thin bezel format, to just 1.68 kg. Schenker Technologies uses a 15.6-inch IPS panel with Full HD resolution and a maximum brightness of 450 nits. Two side-mounted hinges provide optimum support even during a rough train journey, while still allowing the laptop to be opened with one hand at an angle of up to 180 degrees. This makes the professional mobile device also suitable for presentations in the context of business meetings. For video conferences, a Windows Hello compatible HD infrared webcam positioned at the top edge of the display and four integrated microphones allow for optimum video and voice quality. An additional highlight, which only underlines the overall quality claim even more, are the laptop speakers. These already provide a loud and crisp sound without the use of any audio tuning software.

Consistently quiet and cool - in every respect

Being designed for maximum efficiency, the motherboard concept and the tailor-made cooling system allow not only for silent operation in low load scenarios such as running office applications or browsing the internet. Intel's intensive engineering is also proved by the low operating noise level during continuous full-load operation of the Prime95 stress test. Depending on the selected energy and performance profile, the Intel Core i7-1165G7 operates at around 77 °C and up to 36.5 dB(A) (balanced mode) or 84 °C and 40.8 dB(A) in the profile designed for maximum performance, while the fans operate in a low and unobtrusive frequency range. In Cinebench R20, the processor achieves 590 (single) or 2433 (multi) points, thus positioning itself clearly ahead of many other current Tiger Lake implementations. This also applies to Cinebench R23 with a score of 1537 (single) and 5990 (multi).

However, the SCHENKER VISION 15 is also suitable for use in very quiet environments in terms of its input devices. The glass touchpad, which operates according to the Microsoft Precision touchpad standard, has a low noise click. The keyboard, equipped with two-stage adjustable white LED backlighting, also features the quietest keystroke to date in Schenker Technologies' entire laptop portfolio and is available in 25 country-specific layouts in the company's online store. Thanks to the special cooling design, the area of the palm rest and the keyboard above it does not heat up.

PCI Express 4.0 SSD and LPDDR4X with 4266 MHz

By using the Intel Core i7-1165G7, the SCHENKER VISION 15 already supports the connection of its M.2 SSD via PCI Express 4.0. The compact motherboard layout requires the use of LPDDR4X memory working at a fast 4266 MHz speed, which helps the integrated Intel Xe graphics unit achieve significantly enhanced performance.

Modern connectivity and smart additional features

The SCHENKER VISION 15 features not one, but two Thunderbolt 4 ports – both of which include power delivery support and serving as DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. In addition, there are two USB A 3.2 Gen2 ports and a 3.5mm 2-in-1 audio jack. Network communication is handled by an Intel AX201 module featuring fast WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

The Intel NUC Software Studio allows various smart user recognition features to be enabled or disabled. This means that the SCHENKER VISION 15 Pro can recognise on request, whether the user is sitting in front of the laptop or not. When approached, the device automatically wakes up from standby, prevents switching to the lock screen when the user is present or calls up the lock screen after a configurable period of time as soon as the user leaves. In addition, the laptop supports the Microsoft Cortana and Amazon Alexa voice assistants; voice commands will work even when the laptop is closed.

Pre-order starts from 4th December 2020

The SCHENKER VISION 15 can be pre-ordered from 4th December 2020 starting at 1,499 Euro (incl. 16 % VAT, in some countries different tax rates apply). Shipping will start at the end of January. Schenker Technologies is initially offering a Shadow Gray version with Intel's Core i7-1165G7 and 16 GB LPDDR4X-4266 RAM. The base configuration also includes a 250 GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus in M.2 form factor, however this can be replaced via the online bestware configurator by faster and larger models, such as the just recently introduced Samsung SSD 980 PRO with PCI Express 4.0 support.
