XMG PRO 16 with 275HX or 13900HX and RTX 5070 Ti

In its 2025 iteration, XMG presents the XMG PRO 16 gaming and multimedia workstation in a completely redesigned guise. The laptop, traditionally positioned in the high-performance segment, is available in two versions, both utilizing NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 Ti: The top-of-the-line model integrates an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and thus boasts advanced features such as Thunderbolt, CSO-DIMM support, and a PCIe 5.0 connection for the primary SSD. XMG also offers a significantly more affordable model based on the Intel Core i9-13900HX, which primarily excels in its price-performance ratio. In terms of both design and other features, the PRO 16 shows a clear similarity to XMG's high-end laptop XMG NEO 16 – this includes connectivity, the 99.8 Wh battery and the 300 Hz fast 1600p display with 100 percent sRGB color space coverage.

XMG PRO 16: Core Ultra 9 275HX or i9-13900HX and GeForce RTX 5070 Ti

XMG's top-of-the-line NEO 16 is joined by a smaller sibling, the XMG PRO 16 (E25), which offers many of the same features at a more affordable price. It features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card with 12 GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a maximum graphics power of 140 watts, including Dynamic Boost. For the CPU, XMG offers two options, each with 24 cores: either an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX or a Core i9-13900HX, which also delivers high performance at a significantly lower price.

Compared to the NEO 16, the laptop, whose display lid is made of aluminum, is thinner and lighter at 357 x 252.5 x 26.5 mm and 2.42 kg. The PRO 16 also uses a large 99.8 Wh battery, and thanks to SiC technology, the 240-watt power adapter is compact and light at 125 x 70 x 25 mm and 611 g (including EU power cable).

The heatpipe cooling system is slightly smaller in direct comparison and features two 80 mm fans and two rear air vents with 100 copper cooling fins. The PRO 16 also draws in additional air through the keyboard and uses Honeywell PTM7958 thermal pads for the processor and graphics card. Combined with the RTX 5070 Ti, this is easily sufficient to deliver consistently high-level performance.

Further scope for individual tuning is available in the BIOS and the XMG Control Center. The XMG PRO 16 offers support for XMP profiles as well as RAM tuning and CPU undervolting, complemented by a BIOS recovery function in case of overly aggressive adjustments. Thanks to the ability to adjust the power limits of the CPU and graphics card, as well as the fan curves, the individually preferred balance between high performance and quiet operation can be quickly found – unless the three predefined performance profiles already meet the requirements.

1600p IPS display with 300 Hz, 500 nits and 100 percent sRGB color gamut coverage

The PRO 16's 16-inch 16:10 display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels can be opened with one hand, offers a fast refresh rate of 300 Hz, a brightness of 500 nits and 100 percent sRGB color space coverage.

Two M.2 SSDs and up to 96 or 128 GB of RAM

All XMG PRO 16 models feature two DDR5 RAM slots and two M.2 SSD slots. The use of heat sinks and thermal pads reduces component temperature. Exclusive features of the Core Ultra 9 275HX version include PCI Express 5.0 x4 connectivity for the primary SSD and support for CSO-DIMM RAM up to 6400 MT/s. The PRO 16 with the i9-13900HX, on the other hand, uses PCI Express 4.0 x4 for both M.2 drives and supports DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM with a maximum speed of 5600 MT/s – higher speeds are possible via the aforementioned RAM tuning options.

For the NEO 16 (E25) with an Intel processor, XMG subsequently enabled a maximum RAM configuration of 128 GB instead of 96 GB. This configuration option is also available for the PRO 16 with the Core Ultra 9 275HX; however, in combination with the i9-13900HX, the maximum memory capacity is currently limited to 96 GB.

Versatile connectivity with connection options for up to four external monitors

The XMG PRO 16 consolidates many ports on the back. Here you'll find the power connector, a Mini DisplayPort 2.1 (DP80), HDMI 2.1, and a USB-C port. On the laptop with the Core Ultra 9 275 HX, this is Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 2.1; on the i9-13900HX, it's USB-C 3.2 Gen2 with DisplayPort 1.4. Both ports support Power Delivery up to 140 watts.

The XMG PRO 16 features three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports and one full-featured USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port on the side, along with 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, a fast full-size SD Express card reader, and a 2-in-1 audio jack for headset and microphone. The laptop connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 6E. Compared to the NEO 16, the only difference is the absence of the XMG OASIS port. However, the PRO 16 boasts 34 ventilation slots that extend across almost the entire back panel – even more than the NEO 16.

In addition to the internal display, the XMG PRO 16 offers native connectivity for up to four external monitors. DisplayPort and HDMI are directly connected to the dedicated NVIDIA graphics card, while both USB-C ports operate via the Intel CPU's integrated graphics (iGPU).

RGB keyboard with NKRO and webcam with physical cover

The PRO 16 also adopts the input devices from XMG's flagship NEO 16. Thus, the keyboard with RGB per-key backlighting not only benefits from the same improved scissor-switch mechanisms, but also features a full-size numeric keypad, separate full-size arrow keys, anti-ghosting, and N-key rollover. In addition to a generously sized 123 x 77.5 mm glass-like Mylar touchpad, whose gliding properties are at least equivalent to previous glass touchpad surfaces, there is a Full HD webcam with a physical cover.
