Optimised Settings
XMG Custom BIOS
Every XMG desktop PC comes with the “XMG Custom” BIOS profile, fine-tuned by us. In it, we optimise the fan curves for your case fans and CPU cooler fan instead of simply relying on the component manufacturers' default values. For your memory, we make sure the correct RAM profile is selected so you get the maximum performance available. Our custom settings improve your system's boot speed, and we disable your motherboard manufacturer's software from automatically reloading when Windows boots – an unnecessary setting that many motherboards have pre-enabled by default in the BIOS, and one that has been linked to security risks in the past.
Optional Overclocking and Undervolting
If you like, you can select the optional “XMG Custom+” BIOS profile when ordering your XMG PC in the configurator, through which we give your system a moderate, stability-tested CPU overclock combined with CPU undervolting. This gives you a system whose processor offers slightly improved performance compared to the “XMG Custom” profile, alongside lower temperatures and, as a result, quieter operation.
Windows 11 Tuning
No Bloatware, with Optional Tweaks
We deliver your Windows 11 without any additional bloatware – no pre-installed trial versions, no unnecessary extra software. If you like, further optional system tweaks are available in the configurator.
Optional Stage 2 Tuning
With Stage 2 Tuning, we get the most out of your PC in terms of performance. In Windows, we set the power plan to “High performance” and set processor power management to 100 percent. We then install MSI Afterburner to optimise the performance of your configured NVIDIA graphics card: we guarantee an increase in maximum GPU clock speed of at least 5 percent – since every graphics card behaves differently, more may be possible in individual cases, though this can neither be planned for nor guaranteed. To keep this overclock permanently active, Afterburner starts automatically and minimised with Windows.
Optional Stage 1 Tuning
We install all Windows updates and component drivers that are current at the time your PC is built. We also set up a local, offline user account for you, which requires no registration with Microsoft – keeping your device activity separate from an online identity. In addition, we adjust the operating system's privacy settings and put a stop to Windows' data-collection features, including disabling the advertising ID and Microsoft's collection of browsing and location data. We also clean up your autostart by disabling software that unnecessarily takes up memory in the background. These settings can be reversed if needed.
