XMG CORE 15 and CORE 16: Ultra-mobile with AMD CPUs, RTX 5070 and 5060

XMG introduces two lightweight and compact aluminum laptops, the 15.3-inch XMG CORE 15 and the slightly larger CORE 16, featuring a wide selection of AMD processors and NVIDIA graphics cards: The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, Ryzen AI 9 365, and Ryzen AI 7 350 can each be combined with a GeForce RTX 5070 or 5060. In addition to a 300 Hz 1600p display with high color gamut coverage, the new models offer up to 128 GB of RAM, 16 TB of SSD storage, and a 99.8 Wh battery.
XMG CORE 15 and CORE 16 (M25) with AMD Ryzen AI CPUs and RTX 5070 or 5060
The XMG CORE 15 and XMG CORE 16 (M25) represent XMG's new premium compact class, each equipped with an AMD CPU from a different price-performance segment. In addition to the 12-core Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, there is a choice of a 10-core Ryzen AI 9 365 and an 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350. All three processors can be paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 or 5060, each with a maximum graphics power of up to 115 watts, including 15 watts of Dynamic Boost.
Weighing just 1.95 kg and measuring 342 x 237 x 21.9 mm, the slim and lightweight CORE 15 boasts a particularly compact aluminum chassis. The 16-inch CORE 16, at 2.1 kg and 355.5 x 254 x 23 mm, is slightly heavier, but still light for an aluminum laptop of this form factor. Both models feature a 99.8 Wh battery that provides over 8 hours of runtime when streaming YouTube at 150 nits of screen brightness, and even longer with basic office applications.
The cooling system has been redesigned, as with most of XMG's 2025 laptops. Airflow is directed through two rear vents with copper heatsinks, rather than from the sides. This prevents warm air from blowing onto the user's hand. Two 70 mm fans (84 mm in the CORE 15 and 70 mm in the CORE 16) draw in fresh air from the bottom and above the keyboard area. Additionally, both the CPU and GPU are equipped with Honeywell PTM-7958 phase-changing thermal pads.
This enables the CORE 15 and CORE 16 to deliver consistently high performance. The specified CPU-exclusive power limits are based on the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and may be up to 10 watts lower in models with the two smaller AMD processors.

Power limits with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, GeForce RTX 5070
As usual, the XMG Control Center offers very extensive setting options; on the GPU side, for example, the graphics power of the RTX 5070 and 5060 can be adjusted between 50 and 100 watts plus 15 watts Dynamic Boost, in order to find the individually preferred, ideal balance between high performance and low operating noise even outside of the predefined performance profiles – including options for adjusting the fan curves.
300 Hz displays with high color gamut coverage and up to 128 GB DDR5 RAM
Both the 15.3-inch and 16-inch IPS displays have a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, a 300 Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of 500 nits. The only difference, aside from the size, is that the CORE 15's display fully covers the sRGB color space, while the CORE 16's offers 100% coverage of both the sRGB and the extended DCI-P3 color spaces.
Both laptops use SO-DIMM RAM and can be configured with a maximum of 128 GB (2 x 64 GB) of DDR5-5600 memory. The two M.2 SSD slots are connected via PCI Express 4.0 and equipped with additional thermal pads.
Many rear ports
The connectivity options between the XMG CORE 15 and CORE 16 are identical with one exception: The smaller 15.3-inch model offers two HDMI 2.1 ports on the back instead of one. Additionally, this location also features a DP80-capable Mini DisplayPort 2.1, a Thunderbolt-compatible USB4 port with DP40-capable DisplayPort 2.1 and 140 watts of power delivery (20 V, 7 A), and the power supply connector.
In addition, the CORE series offers a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port with DisplayPort 1.4 and 100W Power Delivery, three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, Gigabit LAN, a 2-in-1 headset/microphone jack, and a fast, full-size SD Express compatible card reader. Wireless networking is handled via Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 6, depending on the selected WLAN module.
Thanks to this range of interfaces, the CORE 16 can natively connect up to four external monitors in addition to its integrated display, while the CORE 15 can handle five thanks to its additional HDMI port. The Mini DisplayPort and one 48 Gbps HDMI port are each connected to the powerful NVIDIA graphics card, while the two USB-C ports with DisplayPort and the second 32 Gbps HDMI port of the CORE 15 operate via the energy-efficient integrated graphics of the AMD processor.
RGB keyboard with NKRO and glass-like Mylar touchpad
The keyboard on both laptops is identical and the same as that of the NEO 16 and PRO 16. On the CORE 15, given its very compact dimensions, it features an edge-to-edge keyboard. Therefore, the XMG CORE series also includes N-key rollover, anti-ghosting, per-key RGB backlighting, and features such as a full-size numeric keypad and separate, full-size arrow keys. The glass-like Mylar touchpads measure 123 x 77.5 mm on both models. For video conferencing, XMG has positioned a Windows Hello-enabled Full HD webcam with a physical privacy shutter at the top of the display.
